Pandion Systems, Inc., an ecological consulting and environmental communications firm, is seeking a full time staff ecologist/ biologist to supplement and expand our ecological services in our Gainesville, Florida office. Position Requirements: �� MS/MA or PhD in ecology or equivalent discipline �� Minimum of 3 yrs of work experience �� Experience working on wildlife/avian related issues �� Strong writing and editing skills �� Experience conducting field studies �� Ability to work outside and conduct field surveys �� Experience working in an office environment �� Experience using Microsoft Office products �� Availability to work full time (40 hrs) �� Ability to travel Required Characteristics: �� Self motivated and self managing �� Ability to work with a team in collaborative manner toward a common goal �� Interest in generating new business opportunities and writing proposals/grants �� Ability to work with diverse client types including government, industry, and developers �� Ability and willingness to work on and manage multiple projects at one time �� Analytical problem solver �� Energized and confident individual who adapts well to change �� Capacity to find new and better ways of doing things �� Entrepreneurial spirit with the passion and energy to fuel new ideas and approaches �� Fosters creativity in themselves and others �� Believes constant learning is their responsibility and part of their job �� Leadership qualities that empower others �� Commitment to environmental conservation �� Desire to be professionally active �� Desire for a position that is more than just a job Desirable Experience/Skills �� Experience using GIS software and GPS tools �� Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies �� Project management �� Statistical data analysis experience Salary will be commensurate with experience.
