A research fellowship is available immediately until the end of March 
2008, to initiate, develop and lead a programme of research in plant 
community ecology, particularly the ecology underpinning management of 
fens and similar habitats.

Quercus is the national centre for biodiversity and conservation biology 
research. We are a dynamic and rapidly developing centre and the 
postholder will be a key member of the research team. For more

The post is funded by the Quercus partnership between QUB and the 
Environment & Heritage Service and the postholder will be expected to 
develop a programme of policy-relevant research.

Candidates must have a PhD in a subject relevant to plant community 
ecology and biodiversity, a track record of publication in international 
journals and clear potential or demonstrable ability as a research 
leader. Experienced candidates with exceptional track records of 
publication and research leadership may be eligible for appointment at 
Senior Research Fellow.

The post is available immediately until the end of March 2008, with the 
possibility of extension subject to performance and availability of 
funding. The appointment will be made at Research Fellow Level but 
appointment at Senior Research Fellow is possible for a truly 
exceptional candidate.

Salary scale: £25,633 - £ 31,525 per annum
