Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for recommendations for textbooks for a 1 semester non-majors Environmental Science class. I had about 20 replies. The books are listed below along with the number of people who recommended or did not recommend them.
Books people liked: Bush 1 Cunningham and Cunningham 4 (this is the shorter Cunningham book) Cunningham, Cunningham, and Saigo 3 (this is the longer Cunningham book) Enger and Smith 3 Miller 3 (this is the shorter Miller book) Raven and Berg 2 Withgott and Brennan 2 (this is the shorter Withgott and Brennan) Withgott and Brennan 1 (this is the longer Withgott and Brennan) Books people didn't like: Botkin and Keller 1 (this person said they "hated" the book) Cunningham, Cunningham, and Saigo 1 (this person said it was too much for 1 semester) Miller 1 (this person said that it was a "cursory overview") Withgott and Brennan 1 (this person like the this longer version but said it was too much for 1 semester) 1 person responded that they have not found a satisfactory text and use readings instead.
