Three graduate students in the Forestry Department at Virginia Tech are
looking for a field technician for the remainder of the summer. I have
attached a flyer that can be shared with interested individuals.

Responsibilities will include:

--Locate invasive plant populations by transect
--Use of forestry & wildlife methods including
     -Overstory, understory, regeneration plots
     -Line intercept, quadrat
--Helping set up plots for rhododendron control studies
--Assisting in leaf sampling from yellow poplar and red maple trees

There will be shotgun use for some of this work, as well as carrying heavy
equipment, and don't forget the hiking! Overall it is a lot of long days in
the woods, which means hard work and a good time.

The position would be best for someone living in the Blacksburg, VA area,
but housing might be able to be arranged, upon further inquiry.

Pay will be $10-12 per hour, with ~40 hours of work a week. There will be
some overnight trips, with travel being reimbursed. Ending date for the
summer is flexible depending on Fall semester start dates for individuals.

If interested please email me your resume and a copy of your
transcript(unofficial copies are fine).

Sincerely,

Katie Kovach
