Conservation Biologist - GIS Analyst

CONSERVATION BIOLOGY INSTITUTE 
The Conservation Biology Institute (CBI), with offices in Corvallis, OR and
San Diego, CA, is a growing, non-profit organization dedicated to providing
scientific expertise to support conservation and recovery of biological
diversity in its natural state through applied research, education,
planning, and service.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
This job announcement is for a scientist position at the Corvallis office
and involves working in conjunction with the Executive Director and other
conservation biologists to address a wide range of conservation issues using
computer mapping technologies.  Collecting, compiling, and analyzing large
conservation datasets is routine. 

QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum requirement is a M.S. in ecology, geography, natural resources, or
related field.  Strong working knowledge of conservation biology and
ecological principles, Arc/Info GIS, and decision support tools is required.
 Successful applicant must be: (1) highly motivated and organized, (2) able
to work independently or in teams, and (3) a good communicator (verbal and
written).

SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range of $38,000-$45,000 depending on experience.  Benefits include
full health and dental coverage, paid holidays, and vacation.  Flexible work
hours.
