Postdoctoral Position, Carbon Cycling by Fine Roots and Mycorrhizal
Fungi, University of New Hampshire (Durham, New Hampshire) and Jones
Ecological Research Center (Ichauway, Georgia). A 3-year
post-doctoral position is available starting Spring-Summer 2008 to
study the effects of precipitation on belowground carbon allocation
and storage by fine roots and mycorrhizal fungi in pine savannas. The
field site is at the Jones Ecological Research Center in southern
Georgia; additional labwork will focus on isotopic analyses including
compound-specific measurements and be carried out at the University of
New Hampshire. Either location could be the home institute. This
project is funded by the Department of Energy's National Institute for
Climate Change Research. For inquiries, please contact Dr. Robert
Mitchell at the Jones Ecological Research Center
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) or Dr. Erik Hobbie at the University of New
Hampshire ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). Candidates with an interest in
carbon dynamics, isotopic analyses, or belowground processes are
preferred.
