The Department of Biology at West Virginia University is hosting its Sixth
Annual Graduate Recruitment Weekend on November 15-16, 2008. We would be
delighted to have any interested students participate. This will be a great
opportunity for talented undergraduate and graduate students to acquaint
themselves with our M.S. and Ph.D. programs.

The weekend’s activities will offer participants many opportunities to
interact with current graduate students and research faculty. We will
provide valuable information about the department, the specific research
interests of our faculty, financial support, and graduate student life at
WVU. Students will meet one-on-one with faculty, share social time with
graduate students, attend a research poster session, and tour of our
state-of-the-art Life Sciences Building, which houses the Department of
Biology, and explore Morgantown.

To learn more, graduating seniors and/or finishing Master’s students who
have shown an interest in research and in pursuing either a M.S. or Ph.D. in
Biology should go to the following web site:
http://www.as.wvu.edu/biology/graduate/programs.htm

The weekend begins with an Opening Plenary Session at 12:30 PM on Saturday.
After an afternoon of meetings with faculty and tours, participants will
join current graduate students for dinner. Accommodations will be provided
to all participants during their stay in Morgantown; each applicant will be
hosted by a current member of the graduate program. A poster session will
be held Sunday morning, followed by meetings with faculty and a closing
lunch with informal discussions with faculty.

Attendance is limited to thirty participants, and reservations will be made
on a first-come first-serve basis.
