SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS/POSTERS 2009 Annual AAG Meeting (March 22-27, 2009) at the Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Proposed Session Title: "Climate, Wildfire, and Woodland Dynamics in the Great Basin of North America". Sponsored by the AAG Biogeography Specialty Group, Climate Specialty Group, and Water Resources Specialty Group. Organizers: Franco Biondi (University of Nevada, Reno) and Jason Sibold (Colorado State University). We are organizing a special paper and poster session dedicated to the interaction between environmental patterns and processes in the Great Basin of North America, with a special emphasis on comparing pre- and post- EuroAmerican settlement periods. Research at all spatial and temporal time scales is welcomed, with a preference to papers based on natural archives of climate, wildfire, and woodland dynamics. Please contact Franco Biondi ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) or Jason Sibold ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) by October 9, 2008 if you are interested in participating in the proposed session. You will then need to register for the conference and submit your abstract to provide us with your program identification number, or PIN. We will use the PIN numbers to add each participant to the session. Note: The registration deadline for submitting the organized session is October 16, 2008. Details about the meeting can be found at http://www.aag.org/annualmeetings/2009/index.htm. Apologies for any cross-postings.
