Hello all, My lab is in the market for a batch of water level loggers, to be used to calculate continuous stream discharge. They will be deployed in 12 midwestern headwater streams for at least three years.
Here's the list of options so far: YSI Level Scout, $1050 [vented or absolute pressure transducer] Global Water WL16 Water Level Logger, $830 [vented pressure transducer] Solinst Levelogger Gold, $595 [absolute pressure transducer] HOBO Water Level Logger, $495 [absolute pressure transducer] Odyssey Capacitance Water Level Probe, $100 [capacitance meter] Factors we're considering include reliability of automated logging, durability in wintry conditions, battery life, data quality, and cost. Do you have any feedback on your most or least favorite models? Or any other models to add to the list of possibilities? Thanks for the input! mia
