[ECOLOG-L] VertNet Biodiversity Informatics Survey Participation Request for ESA Members

Dear ESA members,

As the project coordinator for VertNet, which supports <a 
href="http://manisnet.org/"; target="_blank">MaNIS</a>, <a 
href="http://www.herpnet.org/"; target="_blank">HerpNET</a>, <a 
href="http://olla.berkeley.edu/ornisnet/"; target="_blank">ORNIS</a> and <a 
href="http://www.fishnet2.net/index.html"; target="_blank">FishNet II</a> 
distributed database networks of natural history collections,  I am conducting 
a survey on potential use cases for a new combined vertebrate search portal.

Input from researchers who use or could use VertNet is absolutely invaluable to 
the development of tools that will be useful to the ecology research community. 
 Would you please take a few moments to participate in our survey? 

The survey is composed of 26 questions and takes approximately 10 minutes to

the familiar look and feel of the original MaNIS portal.  The survey does not 
specifically critique the functions of the old portals, but it may help to 
imagine the exciting potential for mapping, visualization and validation tools.
