June 7 to August 12, 2010 Application Deadline April 30, 2010 (sooner is better) To Apply: http://www.mountainstudies.org/Research/Internship_Program.htm This paid 10-week career-building internship program offers an outstanding opportunity to learn from professionals in the field, build skills, and gain networking contacts - all while living and working in a beautiful place. Each student will be placed with a natural resource scientist or manager for 9.5 week field experience/internship. Students will learn methods used by natural resource professionals and community planners in the field and office and be responsible for contributing to real-world projects. About 30% of past interns have been offered employment by mentoring agencies as a result of their field experience. Due to the many logistics and planning requirements of this program, participation requires cooperation and a spirit of adventure. Interns receive $2,000 over 10 weeks; mileage reimbursment for travel to program events; and most interns are provided housing.
