Terrestrial Ecosystem Feedbacks to Climate Change: Vulnerability of Permafrost Carbon
We are seeking to fill a Postdoctoral research position in the Department of Biology at the University of Florida. The fellow will assist in a National Science Foundation funded Research Coordination Network (RCN) focused on the Vulnerability of Permafrost Carbon in a warming world. The foci of the position are (1) to conduct new synthesis research on one of several topics important for understanding permafrost carbon feedbacks to climate, (2) assist with the coordination of a permafrost carbon research network. The researcher will be expected to organize and maintain data sets synthesizing permafrost carbon research, as well as participate in data analysis and writing publications. In addition, the researcher will help plan meetings and other coordination activities to build and maintain a national and international research network. Candidates with a background in biogeochemistry, ecosystem ecology, plant ecology, soil science, forestry, hydrology, or isotopes are encouraged to apply. Experience with data synthesis and/or data management would be helpful, but not required.
