its research presence in Energy and the Environment, Neuroscience, Nanoscience, 
and 
Visualization, Pattern Recognition & Data Analytics through interdisciplinary 
faculty hires across

this initiative, The Department of Biological Sciences anticipates two tenure 
track openings to 
begin the Fall of 2012.  Appointment at the assistant professor level is 
anticipated but exceptional 
senior candidates will be considered.  

We seek ecosystem ecologists whose research interests focus on freshwater 
ecosystems or 
microbial ecology and complement current strengths in the Department and 
University.  To be 
considered, applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related 
discipline and strong 
promise of developing an active research program.  Additionally, candidates 
should have post-
doctoral experience, demonstrated teaching effectiveness, and experience with 
cross-disciplinary 
research collaborations.  This position is part of the College of Science 
Integrated Studies of Earth 
System cluster, offering unique opportunities for cross-disciplinary research
