The Tracy lab at the University of Nevada, Reno, is hiring 2-3 field technicians for the spring of 2012.
We are hiring 2-3 field technicians to help with PhD research on desert tortoise disease ecology. The field season will be based in Henderson, NV, with regular trips to California, Utah, and Arizona. This project will involve camping for days at a time. A regular day in the field will involve hiking 6+ miles in the desert and sample processing upon return to the apartment/campsite. The field season will last from late-March through the end of June. Position will begin and end in Reno, NV. Stipend: $1000/month plus housing. Field technicians must have a bachelor of science in biology or a similar field, or be working toward a degree in biology, and must be comfortable camping and hiking in the desert.
