The Sundarbans Tiger Project (STP), a flagship project of the Wildlife Trust of 
Bangladesh (WTB),
is looking to recruit a Research Officer based in Bangladesh.

WTB and STP offer the successful candidate the chance to work on a world 
leading tiger conservation project and be involved in assessing and studying 
the threats towards the largest remaining Bengal tiger population in the world. 
   
                                                                                
                                                 
The Research Officer will be part of the Research and Monitoring Team
and will be responsible for designing social and ecological studies as well as 
writing and finalizing reports,
threat mitigation recommendations for the government, articles for websites and 
newspapers, and manuscripts for scientific journals.
Furthermore this position includes oversight of administrative responsibilities 
for the team.

Requirements:

Excellent English written and verbal skills
Higher university degree, preferably a PhD, in a relevant subject
High interest in conservation
Experience in social or ecological research
Proven record of research outputs
Good reviewing skills (eye for detail and formatting)
GIS and statistical analysis skills are highly desirable
Team player and intercultural competency
Ability to deal with living conditions in a remote Bangladeshi location

Conditions:

Competitive local salary and generous annual leave allowance of 60 days
The position is based in the rural city of Khulna with occasional field  work 
in the Bangladesh Sundarbans and occasional trips to Dhaka
Free accommodation in the project flat is provided
One return flight and visa costs are provided
Travel and health insurance are not provided; applicants must provide their own.
