The Department of Earth & Environment (http://casgroup.fiu.edu/earthenvironment/) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant to Associate Professor in the area of Horticulture, to begin in Fall 2012. We seek an outstanding candidate with research focused on horticulture, agronomy or general cropping systems in sub-tropical regions. Duties include developing undergraduate courses in environmental horticulture, agronomy, and pest management. Florida International University (FIU) is expected to be certified by USDA as a Hispanic-Serving Agricultural College and University. The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous research program, mentor both undergraduate and graduate students, and obtain external research funding. A Ph.D. in horticulture, agronomy, crop sciences, or related disciplines is required at the time of appointment.
