requiring review of the original maps, etc...literature on extent,
distributions, etc, of terrestrial forest biomes shows inexact consensus
across specialists...also, there is incomplete concordance between
Whittaker's & Holdridge's systems...more important, as i recall, is the
fact that transition zones occur between each forest type, areas that are
very poorly resolved, mapped, described, etc, between biomes...the
landscapes peri-tropical moist forest[s] TMF are, especially, fuzzy in the
literature [v long story]...i think that the area you've circled represents
a transition zone that is, scientifically, "messy"...i have an encyclopedia
entry in press describing some of the problems associated w specifying TMF
that i can make available to anyone interested as long as it is not
quoted...clara*

*BTW i make no claim to being a tropical botanist, plant ecologist,
etc...however, i am well-prepared on these topics...particularly, tropical
deciduous & tropical moist...and have worked in tropical wet...
