Applicants should hold a PhD degree in gut microbiology, microbial ecology, food microbiology or molecular microbiology or related fields and have a practical background in molecular and cultivation techniques. Experience in one or more of the following areas/techniques will be of advantage: profiling of microbial communities (fingerprinting, clone library analyses, next-generation sequencing analysis), qPCR, annotation of (meta-)genomes, anaerobic microbiology, nutrition.
