The University of Houston-Clear Lake seeks applicants for a full-time, 
tenure-track appointment for an Assistant Professor of Biology, beginning 
Summer 2014.    A Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field, with 
freshman-level teaching experience, is required.  Preference will be given to 
individuals with post-doctoral experience and research emphasis in the areas of 
organismal or forensic biology.

The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for teaching General 
Biology I and II, as well as to develop other undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) 
courses within his/her specialization area or to meet the needs of the Biology 
Program.  This position has a normal teaching load of nine credit hours per 
semester, comprised of undergraduate and graduate courses.

The selected candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain an 
independent and active research program, advise master's level graduate 
students on theses and projects, supervise undergraduate student research, and 
provide service to the profession, university and program.
