Dear Entomological and Ecological communities,

The Invertebrate Studies Institute recently obtained its permits to import and keep a number of insect species for its Invertebrate Zoo (Athens, GA) and for research.

I would LOVE to get some of the green and some of the red forms of Megaphasma dentricus for the ISI bug zoo this fall. Can any of you find some for us? If you are near the Ozark trail, I know a specific location there where the red form can be VERY common this time of year through September. Below is a URL link where you can see photos of this species to help you recognize it in the field.

Another US species of interest is Haplopus mayeri in the Florida Keys. If you or anyone you know is down there and might be able to help us obtain these, contact me soon as well!

We will be interested in acquiring other species - from the US and World-Wide - over the next few weeks and months as we establish the ISI and its invertebrate zoo. If you think of other very interesting species for display, education or research that you are able to provide - feel free to contact us at any time!

Regards,

ATD of ATB and ISI
