Lecturer Position – Plant Biology

The Department of Environmental and Plant Biology at Ohio University seeks
an individual for a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month lecturer position
at the entry or associate level depending on qualifications. The position
will start August 25, 2014. The successful candidate will be expected to
contribute to the undergraduate educational mission of the department. 
Teaching responsibilities will include preparation and teaching of large
lecture courses (80-200 students), coordination of lab sections for an
general biology course, and mentoring of teaching assistants.  The ideal
candidate would also participate in governance of the department (committee
work) and build/maintain a professional profile in scholarship of
undergraduate teaching. Demonstrated success as an instructor of record and
in developing innovative teaching techniques is preferred. Although a
non-tenure track position, multi-year contracts and promotion are possible
in this teaching track.  We are seeking a candidate who can complement our
current faculty’s areas of expertise and the successful candidate will have
some latitude to develop/teach other general education courses within
his/her area of expertise.  The Department of Environmental and Plant

30 graduate students, and 70 undergraduate majors. Further information about
