Research Assistant Professor Climate Change—Crop/Animal Adaptations Tennessee State University, Nashville, TN The incumbent should be able to carry out independent research as well as collaborate with other departmental researchers representing diverse scientific disciplines. Potential research areas include: (1) global climate change and agriculture; (2) plant and animal responses to climate change; (3) biogeochemical transformations under climate change; (4) carbon sequestration and climate change; (5) impacts of climate change on ecosystem, biodiversity and natural resources and amelioration of undesirable effects thereof. Expectations are that successful applicants will be able to attract external funding through competitive grant writing and peer reviewed publications to aid in achieving position goals. The incumbent is further expected to mentor and teach undergraduate and graduate students in courses in global climate change areas.
This is a full time, 12-month, non-tenure track but long term research position. Minimum Qualification/Experience: Requires a PhD degree in atmospheric or environmental science; agricultural and/or biosystem engineering; agroecology, plant physiology or related field with as strong background in climate change modeling pertaining to crop/animal adaptations to environmental stressors.
