Assistant Professor of Biology (Ecology, Environmental Biology) at Edgewood College in Madison, WI
The Department of Biological Sciences at Edgewood College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2014. We seek a broadly-trained biologist with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research, and expertise in aquatic ecology, wetland ecology, environmental biology, and / or resource management. The Edgewood College campus is home to a state-of-the-art science facility and a field station bordering Lake Wingra; the surrounding Madison, WI community offers additional diverse scientific opportunities. The successful candidate will teach introductory and core biology courses, with additional opportunities to develop upper-division courses in his or her area of expertise. He or she will collaborate with undergraduates in research, and will also actively engage in the regular governance and service activities of the Department of Biological Sciences and Edgewood College. A Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences is required. Candidates must also demonstrate college teaching excellence and the potential for an active research program amenable to undergraduate research. Interest in K-16 science collaborations and outreach initiatives will be an asset.
