ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, APPLIED FOREST ECOLOGY The Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation at Virginia Tech is seeking applicants for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track teaching (60%) and research (40%) appointment in Applied Forest Ecology. Applications of forest ecology are central to effective and sustainable forest management. Specific research emphasis could come from a variety of areas such as wildland fire, forest disturbance, forest health, or silviculture.
The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct innovative research and publish results in peer-reviewed, high-quality journals, support graduate students and research programs with external grants and contracts, advise undergraduate students and supervise graduate students, and actively collaborate in a multi-disciplinary context with faculty in the department, college, and university as appropriate to scholarly interests and programmatic needs.
