The Central Arizona–Phoenix Long-Term Ecological Research (CAP LTER) program in the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for four surveyors to carry out plant survey, soil sampling, and similar ecological field-based survey work as part of an ecological survey of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), non-benefits eligible position that is expected to last through May 2015.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Four years research or ecological experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired qualifications: Experience outside of university coursework in collecting & recording field-survey data, reading maps, following protocols, and using GPS tools; fieldwork experience working in both urban and desert locations. Candidates with demonstrated experience identifying native Sonoran desert plants and/or cultivated exotic plants of the Phoenix metropolitan area are particularly sought.
