The Bronstein Lab at the University of Arizona seeks a motivated research assistant for Summer 2015. The project will examine how foraging behavior contributes to foraging efficiency in bumblebee pollinators and nectar robbers. Fieldwork will be conducted at the Rocky Mountain Biological Lab (RMBL) in Gothic, CO (Elev. 2895m).
We are seeking an assistant with experience and/or interest in plant-pollinator interactions who is willing to work long days at high elevation, sometimes in inclement weather. Fieldwork will consist of plant manipulations and bee observations in the field, and will require some handling of live bumblebees. An assistant with previous field research experience is preferred. We are looking for someone with a keen attention to detail and the ability to understand and anticipate workflow. A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team are crucial. While this is a volunteer position, we can provide funding to cover room and board at the research station (housing, fees, and a stipend). Travel to and from RMBL and additional salary cannot be provided. To apply for the position, please send a cover letter, CV/resume, and contact information for 2 references to Sarah Richman at srich...@email.arizona.edu.
