Postdoctoral Research Associate Department of Plant Biology Department of Geology University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Position Description A Postdoctoral position is available in Feng Sheng Hu's interdisciplinary research group at the University of Illinois. Current research in the group focuses on the Quaternary population dynamics of boreal and temperate plants based on genomics, paleoecology, and niche modeling; novel disturbances (fire and thermoerosion) and biogeochemical cycling in arcto-boreal ecosystems based on lake-sediment and soil analyses; and C4 plant ecology and evolution based on single-pollen isotope analysis. The successful candidate will work on one or more of these projects in collaboration with a large group of ecologists, geneticists, remote sensing experts, ecosystem and species-niche modelers, geochemists, and statisticians. She/he will also be encouraged to pursue new research directions, and will help manage the lab and interact with graduate and undergraduate students.
