The Environmental Science Program and the Biology Department of Trinity College, Hartford, CT invite applications for a tenure track position in Conservation Biology to begin in the fall term of 2016. The primary teaching duties for this position will include courses in environmental science at levels from introductory to advanced, an advanced level course in conservation biology, as well as an advanced course in the candidate’s area of expertise. Other teaching duties will include non-majors science courses or first-year seminars during alternate years. Trinity’s Environmental Science Program is an initiative that exploits the College’s urban location and the broader Hartford environs. The Environmental Science program currently consists of one tenured faculty member with expertise in the earth sciences, a laboratory instructor with expertise in geology and geochemistry and an endowed postdoctoral teaching and research position. The program enjoys additional support from other faculty in biology, chemistry, engineering, and physics. Research with undergraduate student participation is expected and suitable start-up funds will be provided. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biology or associated field with a research specialty in some area of conservation biology. Trinity College is an AA/EO institution.
