Assistant Professor - Invertebrate Crop Pest Scientist, Oregon State University

The Department of Crop and Soil Science at Oregon State University invites 
applications for a
tenure-track position focused on mollusk pests. This is a 9-month, full-time 
position with a 75%
Research and 25% Extension split.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally 
recognized,
externally funded program that will include innovative applied research of 
specific need and
clientele interest in management of terrestrial mollusk pests in western Oregon 
crops.
Novel/outside-the-box research in areas including, but not limited to, 
biological control,
modifications of crop production practices or rotations, and RNAi are 
encouraged. The appointee
will be expected to participate actively in graduate education, publish 
research findings in peer-
reviewed journals, and transfer information to industry audiences through 
extension publications
and presentations at grower meetings and field days

Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Entomology, Plant Protection, 
Integrative
Biology, Zoology or closely related field, and experience in applied research 
that is transferable
to terrestrial cropping systems.
