The Department of Earth System Science and Policy (see http://essp.und.edu<http://essp.und.edu/Default.aspx>) at the University of North Dakota invites applications for a position in Environmental Modeling. We seek a highly creative and interactive scholar whose research and teaching interests focus on modeling of environment, climate, biogeochemistry, or interactions of human and natural systems. The Department provides degrees in Master of Science, Master of Environmental Management and PhD, as well as an undergraduate Minor in Sustainability Studies. The position is 9-month, tenure track, assistant professor, with responsibilities divided between 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service. The candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral level degree in a relevant field by the time of appointment (August 16, 2016). The candidate will contribute to high quality teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs, in departmental core and elective courses. The candidate will engage in recruitment and mentoring of graduate students and provide service to the department, institution and profession. The candidate will also seek and secure extramural funding for research, and engage in interdisciplinary research across the UND campus and beyond.
