We invite applications to a post-doctoral research position on lake ecosystem modeling. The successful applicant will work with scientists from the University of Toronto and Ontario government to build an ecosystem model for Lake Simcoe, Ontario. Using the rich database available for this 722 km2 lake, the post-doctoral researcher will build this model and use it to identify issues related to key food-web interactions, resiliency and vulnerability to invasive species and recreational angling, and to identify gaps in knowledge to aid in reducing uncertainty of management decisions. The PDF will be expected to publish in leading scientific journals, present the research at conferences, and coordinate a relevant workshop.
Funding (pending final approval) is for two years at $45,000/yr plus benefits and the PDF will be located at the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Toronto (http://www.eeb.utoronto.ca/). We will begin reviewing applications February 19, 2016. Applicants must have a PhD at the time they begin the position. Applicants should submit: a cover letter providing an overview of their relevant background and indicating when they will be available for the position; their CV; and the names of three references. The application should be emailed to: Dr. Erin Dunlop (erin.dun...@ontario.ca<mailto:erin.dun...@ontario.ca>), Dr. Joelle Young (joelle.yo...@ontario.ca<mailto:joelle.yo...@ontario.ca>) and Don Jackson (don.jack...@utoronto.ca<mailto:don.jack...@utoronto.ca> http://jackson.eeb.utoronto.ca/).
