Postdoctoral Position in Evolutionary Ecology A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Matthew Walsh at the University of Texas at Arlington (http://walshlab.weebly.com/). The Walsh lab studies the interplay between ecological and evolutionary forces in aquatic environments. There are opportunities for a postdoctoral researcher to pursue research in existing study systems in lakes in Alaska, Wisconsin, and Connecticut. This includes a current NSF funded project that is addressing the link between long-term ecological change and evolution in zooplankton in lakes in Alaska and Wisconsin (though the position is not tied to this project). The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop her/his own independent research.
I am looking for a candidate that has a background in aquatic ecology and interests in evolutionary ecology. Prior experience analyzing long- term data and/or performing experiments with zooplankton or fish is also desirable. A Ph.D. in ecology or evolutionary biology is necessary. The duration of the position is for a minimum of two years with annual renewal contingent on performance. The start date is flexible although ideally the position will begin sometime this summer. To apply, e-mail Matthew Walsh (matthew.wa...@uta.edu) with a brief (< 1 page) cover letter explaining your research interests, (2) a CV, and (3) contact information for three references. Review of applicants will begin immediately.
