Position Description: A postdoctoral associate position is available with the Natural Resource Economics & Policy Lab in the School of Forest Resources and Conservation, College of Agricultural & Life Sciences, at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), one-year position, with an expected start date of November 1, 2016. Salary is $47,500 plus benefits. Primary responsibilities include: conducting economic analyses on the value of ecosystem services and mechanisms for capturing that value (e.g., ecotourism); survey design and implementation; focus group and interview data collection and analysis; analysis of stated preference valuation data using statistical and econometric methods; and writing research and outreach publications. Other responsibilities include collaborations with graduate students working on related projects including appropriate co-authorship on manuscripts, preparing grant reports and manuscripts, as well as participation in grant writing.
Required Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Natural Resource, Environmental, or Agricultural Economics, or a closely related field; experience with survey design, implementation, and analysis tools; and strong econometric analysis skills. Preferred Qualifications: At least two years’ experience applying survey design, implementation and analysis skills in a stated preferences context; experience with focus group and interview methods, including qualitative data analysis; strong knowledge of the ecosystem services valuation literature; and strong communication skills.
