A postdoctoral position is available in the Ballantyne Lab at the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia to develop models of trophic interactions and element fluxes for stream ecosystems in the Luquillo LTER in Puerto Rico. The goal of the project is to develop and parameterize a model using data from stream flow manipulations that can be used to predict the consequences of changing climate and hydrology for stream communities and coupled terrestrial-aquatic element fluxes. The postdoc will have the opportunity to work with a team of stream ecologists, biogeochemists, and climate modelers. Funds are available for some travel to field sites. Experience with theory and modeling are required for the position. Experience with parameter estimation for dynamic models is desired, but not required.
Please submit a cover letter, a current CV, a two page statement describing research interests and accomplishments, and the names and contact information for at least three references to f...@uga.edu. Review of applications will begin December 1 and continue until the position is filled. To ensure full consideration, submit all materials by the deadline. The term of appointment will be 18 months with a salary between $38,000 and $42,000, depending on experience.
