Predictive Ecosystem Analyzer (PEcAn) Project has been accepted as a Google
Summer of Code (GSoC) mentor organization this year. GSoC is a global
program where students work on a 3 month programming project with an open
source software.

PEcAn is an integrated ecoinformatics toolbox that consists of a set of
scientific workflows that wrap around ecosystem models and manage flow of
information in and out of models. PEcAn is built using mainly R, and we
benefit from the use of a wide range of other software, including
PostgreSQL, PHP, Javascript, C, Fortran and Python.

Proposal submission period through GSoC official program website is *March
20 - April 3* 16:00 UTC. Accepted students will be mentored by PEcAn
members and financially supported by GSoC.
