The Kettenring Wetland Ecology Lab in the Department of Watershed Sciences and the Ecology Center at Utah State University has openings for 1-2 MS graduate students, starting fall 2017 or spring 2018. Projects could focus on techniques for reestablishing native plants in wetland restorations; the importance of genetic diversity in revegetation success; seed sourcing for restoration; climate change and seed ecology; and/or the role of plants in supporting ecosystem function and services restoration. All projects will focus on Great Salt Lake wetlands and will be under the guidance of Dr. Karin Kettenring (http://karinkettenring.weebly.com/), whose research emphasizes plant ecology and genetics, wetland restoration, and ecosystem management. Students with a background and interest in seed ecology, plant propagation, climate change and wetlands, and/or wetland restoration are particularly encouraged to apply.
