Position: Instructor/Assistant Professor, GIS - 3/4-Time Temporary

Description:
The Department of Geography, Planning and Sustainability in the School 
of Earth and Environment at Rowan University invites applications for a 
¾ time temporary position for academic year 2017-2018.  The successful 
candidate will teach a total of 12 credits over two semesters.  In 
addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will 
provide technical support to the department's GIS teaching and research 
initiatives, and make contributions to the function of the department 
that may include, but are not limited to, advising student research, 
developing program assessment materials, analyzing assessment data, and 
providing career and graduate school information to undergraduates. The 
Department is seeking a faculty member to teach introductory and upper-
level geospatial courses, possibly including GIS, Remote Sensing, 
Spatial Database, and Web GIS electives related to their expertise. We 
seek candidates who have demonstrated effective teaching and have 
experience with spatial data management and technology, who can 
contribute in meaningful ways to the department.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree or ABD in Geography, GIS, 
Planning, Environmental Science/Studies or related area. Applicants with 
a Ph.D. in one of these fields will receive the strongest consideration.

Starting Date: September 1, 2017
