The Wildland Resources Department and the Ecology Center at Utah State
University invite applications for a nine-month tenure-track faculty
position in Animal Population Ecology at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The appointment will be 50% research, 40% teaching, and 10% service. The
appointed faculty member will be expected to develop an externally funded
research program that achieves an international reputation for research and
graduate training in the field of wildlife population ecology. Skills and
research areas of particular interest to the Department include, but are not
limited to: Bayesian state-space and integrated population modelling;
integral projection modelling; survival estimation; multistate
capture-recapture modelling; matrix modelling; mark-recapture techniques;
implications of life-history evolution for population ecology including
adaptation to climate change; effects of disease, predation, and hunting on
population dynamics; etc. Fundamental to this position is working across
disciplinary and institutional boundaries and collaborating with federal and
state agencies. The appointed faculty member will mentor and advise graduate
students and post-doctoral researchers from diverse backgrounds, as well as
teach courses (potentially online) to undergraduate and graduate students
