Utah Valley University invites qualified candidates to apply for a
tenure-track position within the Department of Biology. This position will
begin August 2018. *Candidates with backgrounds in metagenomics or
microbial bioinformatics are highly encouraged to apply*. Candidates must
have a Doctorate in microbiology or related biological disciplines,
research methods in the field of microbiology (metagenomics and
bioinformatics highly encouraged) and excellent teaching skills with a
strong commitment to effective teaching attributes. Responsibilities
include teaching undergraduate courses in General Biology (BIOL 1610),
Environmental Microbiology and/or Microbial Ecology along with other
microbiology courses as needed by the department; develop and supervise a
research program in *microbiology field of expertise that promotes
undergraduate student participation and results in peer-reviewed
publication*; work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to
promote successful growth of the department and serve on department,
college, and university committees as fitting a tenure-track position.

Primarily undergraduate institution located at the base of the Wasatch

Must display an aptitude for and willingness to engage undergraduate
students in research.
