Postdoc position in invasion ecology/macro ecology The University of Konstanz with its “Institutional Strategy to promote Top- Level Research” has been receiving continuous funding since 2007 within the framework of the Excellence Initiative by the German Federal and State Governments.
The Ecology lab of Mark van Kleunen in the Department of Biology at the University of Konstanz is seeking a highly motivated postdoc to work on a DFG-FWF-funded project on the analysis and maintenance of the Global Naturalized Alien Flora (GloNAF) database. This project is part of a large international collaboration, and has already resulted in many high-profile publications (see https://glonaf.org/ for more details). The tasks of the postdoc will be to maintain and expand the database, and particularly to analyse the database to address major questions in invasion ecology and macro ecology. The successful candidate should have an interest in plant invasions, be able to handle large complex databases (mySQL), have a solid plant taxonomic knowledge, and have strong writing and statistical skills (preferably in R). The 100%-position has been funded for three years, and the salary will be at scale E 13 (see http://www.dfg.de/formulare/60_12/60_12_en.pdf). The earliest starting date is 1 March 2018, but a later starting date is negotiable.
