Department of Fisheries & Wildlife, Center for Systems Integration & Sustainability Assistant/Associate Professor Position in Global Inland Fisheries Ecology and Governance Academic Year ‐ Tenure System Faculty Position Summary: The Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University (MSU), is seeking to fill an academic year tenure system faculty position in Global Inland Fisheries Ecology and Governance at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The person selected will be affiliated with the Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability and will join a group of faculty, post‐doctoral research associates, specialists, and students that provide an internationally recognized program in fisheries science and governance. The appointment of this position will include research (50%), teaching (30%) and outreach (20%). The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise and experience in fisheries ecology and governance systems. This scholar will also need to demonstrate their ability to work collaboratively with multi‐sectoral stakeholders related to the conservation and sustainable use of inland fishery resources and freshwater habitats. Additionally, this person will be expected to interact with policy makers, fishery management agencies, stakeholder groups and the international community including, inter alia, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission (GLFC), and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vibrant undergraduate and graduate program based on extramurally‐funded research, participate in teaching and experiential learning, including the development of online and study abroad educational programs, and provide outreach and consultation services to MSU agency partners around the world. Minimum Qualifications: A doctorate in Fisheries or related field. Demonstrated expertise and experience in fisheries ecology and governance systems. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multi‐sectoral stakeholders related to the management, conservation, and sustainable use of inland fishery resources and freshwater habitats.
