A TAship and research support is available to conduct master’s level 
research on aquatic communities in pond ecosystems in Texas. This research 
will be part of a long-term ecological project that examines spatial-
temporal variation of pond communities at local and regional scales and 
quantify the environmental factors driving aquatic diversity across these 
landscape scales. More specifically, this project seeks to quantify pond 
aquatic diversity using both taxonomic and functional approaches, to 
quantify abundance of predators and competitors within pond microhabitats 
and to investigate the importance of local and regional factors on species 
diversity. 
The preferred starting date is Spring 2019 (early January). Graduates with 
an interest and education in freshwater communities (both fish and aquatic 
invertebrates) or related subjects are encouraged to apply. Please contact

Qualifications 
Graduated with a degree in Biology, Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, 
Environmental Sciences, or related fields, with research experience in 
freshwater ecosystems are encouraged to apply for this position.
