The position will be at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and
Landscape Research WSL Zürcherstrasse 111, CH-8903 Birmensdorf.  The Swiss
Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL is a
part of the ETH domain. Approximately 500 people work on the sustainable use
and protection of the environment and on the handling of natural hazards.
The Research Unit Biodiversity and Conservation Biology studies the
diversity of life in its various forms, from genetic diversity to the
diversity of species and ecosystems as well as their interactions.

In the frame of a SNSF-supported project on patterns of interaction
betadiversity, we are searching for a  PostDoc in community ecology and
biogeography for 2 years, starting on December 1, 2018 and with an option
for prolongation. You will analyze hummingbird-plant interaction data
gathered over the last two to six years across an elevational gradient in
the Andes of Ecuador. You will determine what factors influence variation in
interaction strength and network structure across space and time. You will
publish the results in international scientific journals and present them at
dedicated conferences.

You have acquired a PhD in biology or environmental sciences, with a strong
background in community ecology, biogeography, phylogenetics and statistical
analyses. In particular, you will be familiar with fitting hierarchical
models that accommodate noisy field data. You are ambitious and highly
motivated, are used to a high standard of independent, structured and
careful working attitude, demonstrate a high level of team spirit. Please
