Graduate Fellowships in Freshwater Ecology and Phycology at Fordham
University



The Wehr Aquatic Ecology Lab invites applications from prospective graduate
students interested in conducting research at Fordham University starting
in Fall 2019. We are currently seeking students to contribute to research
one of three areas:
 - Ecology and evolution of brown algae (Phaeophyceae) in freshwater
habitats

 - Causes and consequences of cyanobacteria blooms in Northeast U.S. lakes

 - Biodiversity of algae in karst stream and spring environments



Our laboratory is located at the Louis Calder Center - Biological Field
Station (www.fordham.edu/calder_center). We provide students a wide array
of resources including lake mesocosms, analytical chemistry equipment,
light microscopy, field sampling gear, and field vehicles. Our students may
also engage in research collaborations with scientists at the New York
Botanical Garden (
www.nybg.org/plant-research-and-conservation/tour/graduate-studies/).



We offer competitive stipends and full tuition remission to well-qualified
students interested in pursuing either a M.S. or Ph.D.  We also offer
