Biostatistician for invasive terrestrial species and restoration projects

Introduction
We work on the impacts of invasive terrestrial species on the native flora and 
fauna of the Galapagos Islands. This includes investigating methods to control 
invasive species and evaluating the efficiency of the control techniques and 
their impacts. We have long-term data extending back as far as 20 years.

Required profile
•       MSc or PhD in ecology or related field
•       Experience in the statistical analysis of ecological data and 
preparation of results for scientific publications 
•       Expertise with statistical software (R preferred)
•       Ability to write up scientific results in English and discuss them 

Responsibilities
•       Analysis of ecological long-term data, using commonly used statistical 
procedures
•       Preparation of the results, including the creation of graphs and tables
•       Documentation of analysis steps performed to allow follow-up at a later 
stage
•       Organization of the raw data to enable data analysis
•       Organization of the raw and analyzed data, as well as results in a 
traceable way for future use 

Terms
The consultant will report to the scientist in charge of the projects. The 
candidate selected will be based at the Charles Darwin Research Station (CDRS) 
on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. The consultancy at the 
Charles Darwin Foundation does not imply a work relationship beyond the end 
date of the consultancy contract.

The consultant is expected to work 40 hours per week from 07: 30-12: 00 and 
13:30 to 17:00. Because of  certain project activities, such as field trips, 
this schedule may be changed.
