A fantastic opportunity for anyone with experience leading volunteers at
restoration events as well as planning and organizing other community
events and developing relationships with community groups and leaders. The
City of Bothell fosters key partnerships with "Friends of" groups for
restoring several ecologically important areas, salmon-safe certifications
in recently restored areas, and works closely with the University of
Washington, Bothell for student involvement in restoration. They recently
acquired a golf course and adjoining lands which will be a focus of
restoration efforts in the near-term and an engaged community base who
advocate for ecological restoration.

Job Description:
The City of Bothell is seeking a highly motivated citywide Volunteer and
Special Event Coordinator who is passionate about building community
relationships while empowering people to volunteer in support of the City's
environmental, educational, operational and special event activities.  The
position will be visible in the community while helping to create small,
medium and large special events and volunteer opportunities for a variety
of programs, projects and community celebrations.  As the Volunteer and
Special Event Coordinator Program continues to grow, expand and develop new
initiatives, we are seeking someone who can help maximize these
opportunities.

The key role of the Volunteer and Special Event Coordinator will be to
develop and maintain a citywide volunteer program as the liaison between
volunteers and staff, interface with local businesses and organizations in
volunteer recruitment and recognition.  The position will be responsible
for maintaining partnerships with community organizations, managing youth,
student, and adult volunteer programs; providing education, safety and
technical training to volunteers; as well as residents and businesses with
community engagement and volunteerism opportunities.  The position will
also manage community outreach, and provide support to our environmental
restoration and stewardship projects/programs on City-owned lands.
Finally, in support of special events, the position will interface with
internal City Departments, external government agencies and private
applicants to coordinate and process all applications for medium and large
community events and festivals.
