About the seminar series

Emerging sustainability transitions are beginning to have fundamental effects
on how economic activity is organised across cities and regions. These changes
are prompting reflection from scholars across the field of geography, planning
and allied disciplines. How might we better understand the different impacts
and possibilities of a sustainable economy?

This seminar series showcases cutting edge theoretical and empirical work
across these fields, from researchers at different career stages, asking
critical questions about the nature and geography of transition from a range of
angles.

The next session in the series focuses on Innovation and Sustainability in
China, with talks from leading researchers Ping Huang (The Chinese University
of Hong Kong, Shenzhen) and Huiwen Gong (University of Bern):

  *   Thursday 11th May, 12:00 - 13:00 BST (13:00 - 14:00 CEST)
     * A 'correlative' turn for transition studies on and of China (Ping
Huang)
     * Green window of opportunity and the 'third route' of regional
development: evidence from China's peripheral regions (Huiwen Gong)
