We have attached a copy of our accepted book proposal. As you’re aware, while the livelihoods approach is a robust framework for understanding the survival strategies of the poor in rural or urban areas, it has not been fully applied to the livelihood experiences of residents across the urban spectrum, from those in megacities to those in secondary cities and peri-urban areas in the global south. Moreover, there’s a need to explore, more robustly, new understandings of urban livelihood strategies, research directions, and their implications through a cutting-edge review of the theories and concepts of this approach.
