I guess we are about 2 months behind you, Jeff, here in southern NH for
stone fruits usually start bloom the first week of May. It has been
consistently cold since Thanksgiving including the present deep freeze we
are in so am waiting to prune until some of snow is gone and temperatures
moderate. No regrets on my choice of where to live as having lived in 13
states from coast to coast and north to south know that there are
advantages and disadvantages to every location. My NE friends who have
lived in your area get driven out by endless overcast rainy winters.
I have started early tomatoes, peppers and eggplants for moving into
greenhouses or well protected cold frames in early to late April. Also
moving lettuce transplants from house into my cold greenhouse. I have found
soil temps are too cool for good germination therein but transplants take
off with a little pampering for an April crop. vann
