Some basic ecological principles:

Limits:

 * Earth's life support systems are adaptable but
   there are limits.

 * Populations are healthlist if kept within an
   upper and lower limit.

 * Renewable resources can be sustainable if usage
is limited to natural supply rates.

 * Non-renewable resources can be sustainable if
recycled and we constantly substitued more abundant
   resources.

 * Pollution can be generated at the rate it can be
degraded by the enviornment or collected for recycling.

Change:

*When we alter nature to meet our interests, we should
choose the method that does the least possible harm to
  present eco-systems.

*The environment is constantly changing and so are we. This
awareness has a impact on how we protect ecosystems.
We need to be cautious and monitor rates of change.

*In nature, we can never do just one thing; everything we do
creates effects that are often unpredictable.

Daily decisions:

*The best way to protect life on earth is to protect
  whole ecosystems.

*We can learn a lot about how nature works, but nature is a
complex moving target that our knowledge will always be
  incomplete.

*Everything is connected. All large events are
made up of many small events. Our every act has
  an impact.

Attitude check:

*The Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth
